Working While Black Collection

Too often our truths have been distorted and we have been told that our experiences are imagined. Working While Black (WWB) creates safe spaces to share our work experience. We give voice to our experiences because our truths bring validation to and support from one another; which empowers us to mobilize and fight for change based on our shared experiences.

In partnership with The National Black Worker Center, the WWB video series, grassroots campaigns, WWB Expo, and trainings bring the truth of Black workers out of the shadows – using our stories to create change.

Learn together, Heal Together Series

COMING SOON

The Learn Together, Heal Together Series is a mixture of workshops and events centered around a holistic approach to organizing by addressing not only the physical needs of Black Workers, but the mental and spiritual needs as well.

Oppressive environments enforce a neural trauma state in individuals inducing stress responses that are chronic and unending. There are documented connections between oppression and higher rates of physical illness and psychological distress. Research shows that people of color experience higher rates of depression and anxiety and are more likely to develop hypertension, artery calcifications, lower back pain, and cancer.

The Learn Together, Heal Together series is designed to educate Black workers on how to best take care of their entire well-being in order to reach their full potential and thrive in the workplace. By educating and engaging in holistic healing tactics, we can begin to address the collective impact trauma and systemic racism has had on the Black community. Addressing the mental health and spiritual health needs of the Black community, we create a foundation for Black workers to thrive in their everyday interactions.
